Arrive and overnight at AMEG Lodge Kilimanjaro for dinner and briefing.

After breakfast, transfer to the Marangu Gate in Kilimanjaro National Park. The first day’s trek is a scenic walk through lush rainforest.

Today’s trek is along a good path through open moorlands, with your first views of the Kibo and Mawenzi peaks.

The ascent continues past the ‘Last Water’ point to reach the Saddle, a dry, alpine desert area between the peaks of Kibo and Mawenzi.

Departing at midnight, the steep ascent takes you to Gillman’s Point (5,681m) on the crater rim, arriving in time for sunrise. From there, you’ll continue to Uhuru Peak (5,895m), the true summit. After celebrating, you begin the long descent back down to Horombo Hut.

The final descent takes you back to the park gate, where you will be transferred to your lodge.

The tour concludes with breakfast and your outbound departure.
